history
A Renmark Paringa District Council meeting was held in March 2007 about
current retail developments in Renmark. With the
opening of the new Renmark Plaza, it was clear that Renmark had
potential to become the Retail Centre of the Riverland. A working
party was established by local traders, to explore the opportunities for
all retailers to work together
to reinvigorate Renmark's existing retail sector.
The working party explored several options for the formation of a
traders group, and it was eventually resolved at a meeting of all traders
to form a committee, the “Renmark Paringa Traders Committee”, under the
banner of the Renmark Paringa Development Network (RPDN).
This structure would enable us to act autonomously with our own objectives
without the need for official office bearers and utilizes the legal
protection of the RPDN incorporation. This structure would also help us to
communicate more effectively with the Renmark Tourism Association, and the
Renmark Paringa Development Network itself. |
